Tritium’s Lifetime Warranty on EV Chargers Power Modules: Extremely Risky Move
Bold Step or Financial Suicide?

Tritium just made the RISKIEST move ever by an EV Charger Manufacturer!
They're offering a LIFETIME WARRANTY on their power modules, which is among the most expensive parts of a DC fast charger, and they are failure prone as well.
Let that sink in.
Here is a link to their official press release.

Tritium Press Release, 15th July 2025
This doesn’t apply to older RTM75 or PKM150 charging systems, but to the latest TRI-FLEX platform. Judging by the brochure pictures, these seem to be 25 kW power modules.

Tritium is essentially saying: "We'll replace them for lifetime i.e. for 10 years. No questions asked."
No other manufacturer has ever dared to do this. Here's why it’s either engineering genius or financial suicide:
Power modules = Prone to High Failure Rates in DC fast chargers
Replacements (incl. labor) can wipe off all margins and cause losses
Most OEMs don’t go beyond 2 year warranties
Tritium is betting everything on “next-gen” reliability
They're even challenging the industry to match this standard
The gamble: Either their breakthrough power electronics are truly revolutionary, or they're about to face warranty claims that could sink the company.
CEO Arcady Sosinov put it perfectly: "The lifetime warranty isn't a marketing tactic. It's the natural outcome of engineering excellence."
The bigger picture: This is either the confidence of engineering excellence or the desperation of a company trying to differentiate in a crowded market. Time will tell which.
A part of me is skeptical but I genuinely hope it works. If Tritium pulls it off, CPOs will start demanding the same from every charger manufacturer. That means fewer out oforder chargers and a huge win for emobility.
I’m diving deep into Tritium’s full transformation in my upcoming newsletter. Don’t miss it.
What do you think? Is this the boldest move in EV charging history?
